Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the AI Calorie Counter iPhone app (its name on the App Store varies by country) handles your data. The app is made by MIOZ ("we", "us"). In short: your meal log stays on your iPhone, there is no account and no advertising, and a meal sentence or photo is sent for an AI estimate only after you agree.

What stays on your iPhone

  • Your meal log: the sentences you log, the items with their calories and protein, fat and carbs, the times, and a small thumbnail of each meal photo.
  • Your body details: height, weight, age, sex, activity and goal, and the daily target the app calculates from them on your iPhone. They are never sent.
  • Your choices: your consent to AI sending (with its date) and your app settings.

We have no account system and no copy of this data. The app does not sync it to iCloud. If you back up your iPhone, the backup can include it, under Apple's terms.

Voice input

The microphone is used only while you speak a meal. Your speech is turned into text on your iPhone by Apple's on-device speech recognition. We don't record or keep audio, and audio is never sent. If you use the dictation key on the keyboard instead, that is Apple's feature and Apple's terms apply.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only while you take a meal photo in the app. If you choose a photo from your library, the system picker gives the app only that photo. The full-size photo is never stored or sent: the app keeps a small thumbnail with the meal, and a reduced-size copy is sent for the estimate (see below). If you're offline, that copy waits in the app's cache until the meal has been estimated, and is then deleted.

AI estimates: what is sent, and when

  • Only after you agree. Before your first estimate, the app shows a consent screen (once for sentences, once for photos) that says what is sent and to whom, and asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. Nothing is sent before you agree.
  • What is sent. When you ask for an estimate, the app sends the following to our server over an encrypted connection: the meal sentence you logged, or a reduced-size copy of the meal photo together with any short correction you type; the app language and your region setting; your local time; and a random app identifier (see "Data collected automatically").
  • Who estimates it. Our server (Cloud Functions for Firebase by Google, in the United States) passes the sentence or photo to Anthropic's Claude, or to Google's Gemini if Claude is unavailable, and sends the estimate back to your iPhone.
  • What we keep: nothing of it. We don't store the sentence, the photo or the estimate on our server, and we don't write them to our logs. We don't sell them or use them for advertising. Our logs hold only technical details, such as the type of request, the result status, sizes, timing and a shortened one-way hash of the app identifier.
  • What the AI providers keep. They keep requests only for a limited time for safety checks, then delete them. Anthropic deletes them within 30 days (up to 2 years if a request is flagged in a safety review). Google keeps Gemini requests for a limited time to detect policy violations and does not use them to improve its products.
  • Never sent: your voice, body details, daily target, meal history, name, email address, Apple Account, location or advertising identifier.
  • Withdraw consent at any time in the app: Settings › AI & privacy › Withdraw consent to AI sending. After that, nothing is sent until you agree again. Requests already sent are handled as described above.

Data collected automatically

  • App identifier for subscriptions and limits. The app uses a random identifier created by RevenueCat (not your name, email address or Apple Account). Our server uses it to check with RevenueCat whether you have AI Calorie Counter Pro and to count requests. Our database (Google Cloud Firestore) holds only counters, stored under a one-way hash of this identifier: how many demo estimates were used (kept, so the demo can't be repeated) and how many estimates were requested each day (deleted after 8 days). The counters contain none of your content.
  • App usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): events such as finishing onboarding, opening the subscription screen, asking for an estimate or saving a meal. Their details are limited to categories and ranges, for example whether a meal was typed, spoken or photographed, a sentence-length range, the goal and activity level you picked for your target, or your answer to the 18+ question. Firebase also receives device and app information (model, iOS version, language, app version, approximate country) and a random app instance identifier. Analytics never include your sentences, food names, photos, height, weight or age.
  • App settings (Google Firebase Remote Config): the app downloads its settings from Google, which receives a random installation identifier.
  • Advertising attribution (Apple AdServices): if you installed the app from an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple tells the app which campaign, ad group and keyword led to the install, without identifying you. The app records this in analytics, and RevenueCat also receives Apple's attribution token. We use this to measure which ads work.
  • Purchases (Apple, RevenueCat): Apple processes all payments; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription status with the random app identifier, so the app can unlock AI Calorie Counter Pro.

The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell your personal data.

Notifications

The app sends no marketing notifications. If the app offers a trial period and you start it, the app can offer one reminder the day before billing starts. The reminder is scheduled on your iPhone only if you allow notifications; nothing is sent to us.

Service providers and where data is processed

We share data only with providers that help us run the app, and only for that purpose: Anthropic (Claude, for estimates), Google (Gemini, for estimates; Firebase Analytics, Remote Config, Cloud Functions, Firestore and Hosting), RevenueCat (subscriptions) and Apple (payments, ad attribution). Each processes data under its own privacy terms. Our server runs in the United States, and these providers may process data in the United States and other countries, whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. The consent screen asks for your agreement before a sentence or photo is sent to them.

Retention and deletion

  • Delete a single meal in the app, or everything at once in Settings › Data › Delete all data: every meal, your target and the draft are removed from your iPhone. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored on your iPhone.
  • To keep a copy of your meal log first, use Settings › Data › Export as CSV.
  • Sentences and photos sent for an estimate are not kept by us. The AI providers' retention is described above.
  • Daily counters on our server are deleted after 8 days; demo counters are kept.
  • Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months.

Adults only

AI Calorie Counter is made for adults (18+) and is not directed to anyone under 18. The consent screen asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older; if you answer that you are under 18, nothing is sent and the app can't be used. If you believe that someone under 18 has sent us data, email us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example Japan under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, Korea under the Personal Information Protection Act, the EU or the UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Most of your data exists only on your iPhone, where you can view, export and delete it yourself. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.

本ポリシーは、iPhoneアプリ「AI Calorie Counter」（App Storeでの表示名は国・地域によって異なります）が、お客さまのデータをどのように扱うかを説明するものです。本アプリはMIOZ（以下「当方」）が提供しています。要点は次のとおりです。食事の記録はお使いのiPhoneに保存され、アカウントも広告もありません。食事の文や写真をAIによる推定のために送るのは、同意をいただいた後だけです。

iPhoneに保存されるもの

  • 食事の記録：記録した文、品ごとのカロリーとたんぱく質・脂質・炭水化物、時刻、食事写真の小さなサムネイル。
  • 身体の情報：身長、体重、年齢、性別、活動量、目標と、それをもとにiPhoneの中で計算した一日の目安。これらは送信しません。
  • お客さまの選択：AIへの送信の同意（日付つき）と、アプリの設定。

当方はアカウントの仕組みを持たず、これらのデータの複製も持っていません。本アプリがiCloudに同期することもありません。iPhoneをバックアップしている場合は、Appleの規約のもとで、バックアップに含まれることがあります。

音声入力

マイクは、食事を話して入力するあいだだけ使います。音声は、Appleのオンデバイス音声認識によってiPhoneの中で文字になります。音声を録音・保存することはなく、送信もしません。代わりにキーボードの音声入力を使う場合は、Appleの機能として、Appleの規約が適用されます。

カメラと写真

カメラは、アプリ内で食事の写真を撮るあいだだけ使います。ライブラリから写真を選ぶ場合は、システムの写真ピッカーを通じて、選んだ写真だけがアプリに渡されます。元のサイズの写真を保存・送信することはありません。アプリは食事とあわせて小さなサムネイルを保存し、推定には縮小したコピーを送ります（下記）。オフラインのときは、推定が終わるまでそのコピーをアプリのキャッシュに置き、推定の後に削除します。

AIによる推定：送るものと、送るとき

  • 同意の後だけ：はじめて推定する前に、送るものと送信先を示し、18歳以上であることを確認する同意画面を表示します（文と写真で、それぞれ1回）。同意するまで、何も送信しません。
  • 送るもの：推定を依頼すると、暗号化された通信で、次のものを当方のサーバーに送ります。記録した食事の文、または食事写真を縮小したコピー（入力した短い修正のひとことを含む）、アプリの言語と地域の設定、現地の時刻、ランダムなアプリ識別子（「自動的に収集するデータ」参照）。
  • 推定するもの：当方のサーバー（GoogleのCloud Functions for Firebase、米国）が、文または写真をAnthropicのClaudeに渡します。Claudeが使えないときはGoogleのGeminiに渡し、推定結果をiPhoneに返します。
  • 当方が保存するもの：ありません。文、写真、推定結果をサーバーに保存せず、ログにも記録しません。販売や広告に使うこともありません。ログに残るのは、リクエストの種類、結果の状態、データの大きさ、処理時間、アプリ識別子の一方向ハッシュの一部などの技術的な情報だけです。
  • AIの提供元が保持するもの：安全確認のため一定期間だけ保持し、その後削除します。Anthropicは30日以内に削除します（安全審査で問題があるとされたリクエストは最長2年）。GoogleはGeminiへのリクエストを、ポリシー違反を検出するため一定期間保持し、自社製品の改善には使いません。
  • 送らないもの：音声、身体の情報、一日の目安、食事の履歴、氏名、メールアドレス、Apple アカウント、位置情報、広告識別子。
  • 同意の取り消し：アプリの 設定 › AIとプライバシー › AIへの送信の同意を取り消す から、いつでも取り消せます。取り消した後は、もう一度同意するまで何も送信しません。すでに送ったリクエストは、上記のとおり扱われます。

自動的に収集するデータ

  • サブスクリプションと回数の上限のためのアプリ識別子：RevenueCatが作成するランダムな識別子を使います（氏名、メールアドレス、Apple アカウントではありません）。当方のサーバーは、この識別子をもとに、AI Calorie Counter Proへの登録の有無をRevenueCatに確認し、リクエストの回数を数えます。当方のデータベース（Google Cloud Firestore）には、この識別子の一方向ハッシュのもとで回数だけを保存します。デモで使った推定の回数（デモを繰り返せないよう保持します）と、日ごとの推定の回数（8日後に削除）です。お客さまの入力内容は含みません。
  • 利用状況の分析（Google Firebase Analytics）：オンボーディングの完了、購入画面の表示、推定の依頼、食事の保存などのイベント。付随する情報は区分や範囲に限られます（例：文字・音声・写真のどれで記録したか、文の長さの範囲、目安の目標と活動量の選択、18歳以上かどうかの回答）。あわせて、端末とアプリの情報（機種、iOSのバージョン、言語、アプリのバージョン、おおよその国）と、ランダムなアプリインスタンスIDをGoogleが受け取ります。文、食品名、写真、身長、体重、年齢は含みません。
  • アプリの設定（Google Firebase Remote Config）：アプリはGoogleから設定を取得し、Googleはランダムなインストール識別子を受け取ります。
  • 広告の効果測定（Apple AdServices）：Apple Search Adsの広告からインストールした場合、どのキャンペーン、広告グループ、キーワードからのインストールかを、個人を特定しない形でAppleがアプリに伝えます。アプリはこれを分析に記録し、RevenueCatもAppleの効果測定用のトークンを受け取ります。どの広告が役立っているかを測るためです。
  • 購入（Apple、RevenueCat）：お支払いはすべてAppleが処理し、当方がお支払い情報を見ることはありません。RevenueCatは、AI Calorie Counter Proを有効にするため、購入とサブスクリプションの状況を、ランダムなアプリ識別子とともに受け取ります。

本アプリは広告識別子（IDFA）を使わず、他社のアプリやウェブサイトをまたいだトラッキングを行わず、個人データを販売しません。

通知

宣伝の通知は送りません。アプリでお試し期間が提供され、それを開始した場合は、請求が始まる前日に1回のお知らせを提案することがあります。お知らせは、通知を許可した場合にだけiPhoneの中で設定され、当方には何も送られません。

委託先と、データが処理される場所

当方は、アプリの運営に必要な委託先とだけ、その目的に限ってデータを共有します。Anthropic（推定のためのClaude）、Google（推定のためのGemini、Firebase Analytics、Remote Config、Cloud Functions、Firestore、Hosting）、RevenueCat（サブスクリプション）、Apple（お支払い、広告の効果測定）です。それぞれが自社のプライバシー規約に従ってデータを処理します。当方のサーバーは米国にあり、これらの委託先は米国その他の国でデータを処理することがあります。これらの国の個人情報保護の制度は、お住まいの国と異なる場合があります。外国にあるこれらの事業者に文や写真を送ることについては、送信の前に同意画面で同意をいただいています。

保存期間と削除

  • 食事はアプリ内で1件ずつ削除できます。設定 › データ › すべてのデータを削除 を使うと、食事、目安、下書きがすべてiPhoneから消えます。アプリを削除した場合も、iPhoneに保存したものはすべて消えます。
  • 先に記録の控えを残したいときは、設定 › データ › CSVで書き出す をお使いください。
  • 推定のために送った文や写真は、当方では保持しません。AIの提供元での保持は上記のとおりです。
  • 当方のサーバーの日ごとの回数は8日後に削除し、デモの回数は保持します。
  • 分析データの保持期間は、最長14か月です。

18歳以上の方に限ります

本アプリは18歳以上の方向けで、18歳未満の方を対象としていません。同意画面で18歳以上であることを確認し、18歳未満と回答した場合は何も送信せず、アプリは使えません。18歳未満の方のデータが当方に送られたと思われる場合は、メールでご連絡ください。

お客さまの権利

お住まいの地域の法令（日本の個人情報保護法、韓国の個人情報保護法、EU・英国のGDPR、米国カリフォルニア州のCCPAなど）により、ご自身の個人データの開示、訂正、削除、利用停止などを求めたり、監督機関に苦情を申し立てたりできる場合があります。ほとんどのデータはお客さまのiPhoneの中だけにあり、アプリ内でご自身で確認、書き出し、削除ができます。そのほかのご請求は、メールでご連絡ください。30日以内にお返事します。

このウェブサイト

このウェブサイトは、Cookieも分析ツールも使いません。ホスティング事業者（Google Firebase Hosting）が、ページを表示するためにIPアドレスなどの技術的な情報を処理します。
